The Courtyard Guest House is a family run Guest House offering bed and breakfast. It is also our home. As we are not a hotel we reserve the right to accept and refuse guests according to our Booking Conditions stated below. By making this booking you are entering into an agreement with us so please read our terms & conditions below. Prices: The price of the accommodation is displayed in the hall and on our website.
Breakfast: Breakfast is not always included in the price of the rooms.
Pets: Sorry, we do not allow pets, except for registered assistance dogs.
No Smoking Policy: The entire premises are a smoking free area. Any guests smoking on the premises including hanging out of windows will be asked to leave without a refund and/or pay an additional cleaning charge.
Payment methods: (we are unable to accept credit or debit cards). Deposits must be paid for by cheque, postal orders or cash and the full balance is payable on arrival in cash or postal orders. Cheques are no longer accepted on arrival as the cheque guarantee scheme has now ceased.
Booking Procedure: We ask you to provide us with your postal address and contact telephone number. You will be asked to sign our registration book on arrival. Failure to provide valid & true information may result in us cancelling your booking. Your booking is only a binding contract once a deposit is received and cheques have been cleared. We ask you to phone to make a booking, we do not accept bookings electronically, you can make an enquiry by e-mail but we will only inform you if we have availability and the cost, this is not in any way classed as an acceptance. Bookings must be made by phone. If you contact us by email we respect your privacy and will not share your email address.
Cancellation and Insurance: By making your booking, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable. If you cannot take your holiday and the booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full, even if we have not yet received your balance. If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid it, less a £5 administration fee. Please note that your deposit is not refundable. We would recommend that you take out cancellation insurance to cover this cost.
Non-availability of Accommodation: We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. Then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival: Your accommodation will be available to you from 2.00 pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as we will be busy preparing your room. Please let us know your approximate arrival time so we make sure we are here to meet you.
Late arrival procedure: Please contact us to let us know if you will be arriving much later than the agreed time. Guests may arrive up to 10.00 pm at night.
Access to rooms: We clean & service all rooms between 10.00 am & 1.30 pm. We hold master keys to all bedrooms and will enter to service the room or to carry out essential maintenance.
Keys: If you lose our keys there is a £60 charge for replacements of locks & keys.
Departure: Please be ready to leave by 10.00 am on the day of departure. We will provide you with an invoice on request.
Bedrooms: Our rooms accommodate a maximum of 2 guests per night or 4 if a family room and 1 person in our single room. Only registered guests are permitted to use the rooms.
Laundry Service: We regret we are unable to offer a laundry service.
Damages and Breakages: Please take care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you cause, to the accommodation or its contents. All we ask is that you report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £25 if you did not report this.
Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or any employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Privacy Policy / Data Protection: Any data collected during the course of booking or registering may be stored on our computer(s). This is for our use and will not be shared with third parties. Exceptions: requests by police officers or government officials.
Unacceptable Behaviour: Anyone under the influence, or who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry or asked to leave. Threatening, abusive, or anti-social behaviour including smoking anywhere within the property will not be tolerated and anyone demonstrating this kind of behaviour will be required to leave immediately. As will any guest that misuses our property or gives us cause for concern for our safety, or that of our guests. Guests will be liable for the full cost of the booking if we are unable to let the room. We do not accept bookings for groups, Stag, Hen, wedding parties or similar events.
